An Easter Wedding

The Mosley-Chalks are having an ill week. First Ava with tonsillitis and what appears now to have been a stomach bug, then both Howard and I seem to have contracted said bug the day before and the day after the wedding on Saturday. I am currently bed-ridden and waiting for the sickness to pass so we can drive home to York.

I am grateful that none of us were ill on the wedding day itself, although we did have to leave as the reception was beginning because Howard and Ava were still feeling a little off.

But we made it. Being present at someone’s wedding is an honor, and I felt honoured to see it – my friend of 16 years get married – and to do a reading.

Take the lilies and the lace
From the days of childhood,
All the willow winding paths
Leading up and outward,
This is what I give,
This is what I ask you for;
Nothing more.
