Since yesterday was the last day of March, I can show a little more of my March making here.
For my dear friend Cat, I completed my first ever piece of log-cabin quilting, or more precisely, wonky log-cabin quilting (due to the deliberate haphazard nature of cutting and piecing together fabrics) in the form of a pillow full of colours that remind me of this lady, who is the most Piscean of any Pisces I know.
I love the log-cabin look, and have long been eyeing up various log-cabin quilts with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. However, after purchasing Japanese Style patchwork and discovering wonky log-cabin quilting, I was very seriously in love. Log-cabin quilting is notoriously time-consuming, but doing it this way, where each piece of fabric is not measured out precisely, makes the process slightly less lengthy and a little more spontaneous, and it has that topsy-turvy feel to it that I take to.
And I spent the rest of the day, with Howard’s help, updating my Etsy store, Mama Make, and adding a few more items. Now I have a shiny Etsy button on my blog too. Just to the right. And I will be adding more things over the next few days and throughout April, too. All good making fun.
Happy April to you all!
