30 Days of Autumn: 3

I love gardens at night, their colours barely visible but felt.

The blue pot, the red pansies, mysterious and confident in shadow.

When you’re 17 and standing in the garden of the boy you’re going to love, and the moonlight in each other’s words is the first secret you share, it all seems too much – this life that is suddenly yours – but you take it anyway, acutely aware that this moment is a memory in the making.
